"JAPANESE" TEA

Local online shop offers organic "Japanese" teas.

"Selected stems are steamed right after harvest to prevent oxidation so that all the nutrients are reserved," says Sumie Nakamura, the brand specialist.

Varieties available include Matcha, Sencha, Genmaicha and Kariganecha.

"Don't throw away the leaves after you make teas, because you can eat it by adding to rice, pasta, omelette, and using it as chicken marinade."

Free tea tasting sessions are being held at various locations throughout the winter.
